identity definition

--> Multiplicative identity definition:
In the multiplicative identity property, say the product of any number by 1 result in the same number. For example 549 x 1 = 549. In general, for any number n, n x 1 = n and 1 x n = n.
The multiplication identity, since multiplying any number by 1 results in identically the same number.
Multiplicative identity property of zero:
The product of any number with 0 is 0 (zero).
Thus 549 x 0 = 0. In general for any number n, n x 0 =0. And 0 x n = 0
Some problems using the multiplicative identity properties:
Problem 1;
Make equal jumps to the right, the number of jumps being the first factor as 3, and the length of each jumps being the second factor as 4.
Solution:
To the right make 3 equal jumps and 4 units = 3 x 4 =12.
To the right make 4 equal jumps of 3 units = 4 x 3 =12
Here the multiplication of identity is same so the answer is 12
Using the identity rule we gets the same answer as 12
